Jasmine is a director who has worked in London and Singapore; her areas of focus are political theatre, musicals and opera. Productions she has directed include: The Bevin Boys (Pentameters Theatre; London Pub Theatres Standing Ovation Nominee), The Art of Charlie Chan Hock Chye (Pentameters Theatre), The Last Five Years (Henderson Project), The Teenage Textbook Musical (Drama Centre Studio).
Some of her assistant director credits are: The Haystack (Roxana Silbert, Hampstead Theatre), The Wolves (Ellen McDougall, Theatre Royal Stratford East), Company (Hossan Leong, Drama Centre), Il Ritorno d’Ulisse in Patria (Justin Way, Iford Music Festival) and The Merry Widow (David Edwards, Esplanade Theatre).
Jasmine is also the artistic director and founder of The Search for Blue, a theatre company specialising in political new writing from under-represented and marginalised creatives. Her latest commission as director and playwright is a new production for 45 North called My Accent, about Singlish, code-switching, class divisions and race. She also is curator and facilitator for the Singapore Script Initiative, where she hopes to bring new Singaporean writing to the UK.
